Have you noticed the ‘donate’ option at the bottom of the page when you book your tickets?

Lights Out And Dance is proud to now support The Sanctuary Women, Children and Pet’s Refuge right here on the Gold Coast, by way of ongoing fundraising.

The Sanctuary is a self-funded refuge providing a safe haven for women and children fleeing a life of domestic violence, and at The Sanctuary, they can bring their pets!! 🐶🐱🐹

May marked the start of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month (DFVP Month), and the theme for this year is ‘All of us, together’.

With 1 in 6 women in Australia experiencing domestic and family violence and a woman losing her life at the rate of one woman a week at the hands of her partner, our support for The Sanctuary Refuge is needed now more than ever.

Sadly, since its doors opened in 2016, The Sanctuary has been at full capacity. For a service that is so vital, we are astounded that it receives ZERO local, State, or Federal funding, so any support our wuthering tribe provides is greatly needed and appreciated.

The Sanctuary’s mission is to provide refuge, safety, comfort, nutrition, and case management counselling for women and children to help repair the trauma associated with domestic violence.

100% of donations received through Lights Out And Dance will go directly to The Sanctuary, and we have committed to additional fundraising throughout the year. We believe 'All of us, together' raising funds and giving a voice to the women, children and their pet's in the care of The Sanctuary will have both immediate and direct impact.

All donations over $2 are tax-deductible and you will receive a tax-receipt with your booking receipt.

In addition to our ongoing fundraising via our weekly Lights Out sessions, we will attempt to raise funds for The Sanctuary is via our special event The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever. 100% of profits from the MWHDE will go directly to supporting the women and children in the care of the Sanctuary.

We’ve set ourselves a very ambitious goal for this year’s wuthering: to raise a minimum of $2000 and get 200 Cathy’s dancing. You can help us by booking your ticket and joining us for our next global wuther on 23 July 2022 at HOTA, Home of the Arts.
